7 Ways To Curb Bad Dog Behavior and Entertain Your High Energy Dog

When my sweet little fluffy 7-week-old Sheepadoodle arrived with wild zoomies, I had no idea what a working dog was. I now know their ancestors tended sheep, and they had a job. He was immediately trying to herd me as I walked with my friends, going back and forth from foot to foot, keeping me in line. It was the cutest thing but I had no idea about the crazy energy.  He is now four years old, and I have had to figure out how to entertain him and create outlets for his energy.

Dog Park Mandatory

We are up at 7 am and I let him run his heart out in the open fields and bond and play with other dogs and throw the ball.

Doggie Play Dates

Valentino has a best friend and a few other close fluffy friends and this is a lifesaver. They wrestle around for hours and after they leave, he passes out.

Dog Chews

I found this amazing chew that looks like a big piece of bacon from a store called Pet Express in Beverly Hills, they have 60 locations. He is obsessed and will chew on them for a few hours. $1.50 apiece. I always grab a handful. https://www.petfood.express/

Walk 10,000 Steps

We go on a million walks a day around the block and in the neighborhood. He sniffs and smells and that gives him stimulation.

Tug Toys

My little Sheepy loves tug-of-war dog toys. So I came up with a durable dog toy Valentino Pet Paws Out Door Tug Toy.  It is an interactive heavy-duty dog toy  The tugging gives him a job and mental stimulation.  This keeps them from boredom and destructive behavior. It is an outdoor tug toy pole with a rope and dog ball attachment. He also loves tugging with other dogs, It includes a rope that two dogs can tug on which makes a great enrichment socialization dog toy. It is also a great puppy toy because it has adjusted heights as the puppy grows.  My little guy is very social and loves doing everything with other dogs. https://valentinopetpaws.com/pages/pet-paws

Watching TV

Every time I turn the TV on it calms him down and he sits down and watches tv with me. There are also dog videos online and on TV I will put on and he loves watching other dogs and birds.

Agility Course/Beach/Hikes

I live in Beverly Hills so we go to dog beaches and he goes crazy and hikes that allow dogs, so it gives him social interactions with other dogs and new scents. Dogs always want to learn something new, so the agility course is jumping over things and crawling in tunnels. The zoom room has locations across the country that can provide this for your furry baby. https://zoomroom.com/
